Celtic vs Lazio: Match Preview
Lazio visit Celtic Park on Thursday night, a game that could be key in relation to their progression from Group E of the Europa League.
The hosts Celtic are undefeated in the competition and top the group with four points; The Hoops have also won their last seven home games in all competitions.
Simone Inzagi and his Lazio side have a contrasting form; the side from Rome are without a victory in their last four matches away from home (D1, L3).
Inzaghi has the full squad at his disposal heading into Thursdays match; however, there is a question mark over his selection seeing as his side travel to Florence on Sunday in another challenging fixture against La Viola.
Neil Lennon has Jozo Simunovic closing in on first-team football; however, it is unlikely he will be thrown into the deep end against Lazio.
Ryan Christie is serving a domestic suspension, so he will be likely to feature in Thursdays Europa League game.
Celtic vs Lazio: Expected Lineup
Ciro Immobile looks likely to be rested after Simone Inzaghi tested Joaquin Correa and Felipe Caicedo up top in Tuesday’s training session.
Thomas Strakosha also managed to complete a full training session, the Albanian picked up a knock on his elbow in the game against Atalanta and was a doubt for the game against Celtic.
Celtic: Forster, Boolingoli-Mbomo, Ajer, Jullien, Elhamed, Brown, McGregor, Elyounoussi, Christie, Forrest, Edouard
Celtic vs Lazio: Prediction
The fans will have Celtic Park rocking in Thursday’s game against Lazio, for that reason alone I am going to sway the result in their favour. Lazio will run them close, however with the looming away game in Florence on Sunday I think Inzaghi will be leaving Scotland pointless.
Prediction: Celtic 2-1 Lazio
