Genoa vs Lazio: Match Preview
Lazio face another challenge this weekend in Serie A in the form of Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. The Biancocelesti have not been able to win over the I Rossoblù in three years away from the Rome.
The game is equally important for both sides, the Biancocelesti look to extend their un-beaten run and continue to put pressure on Juventus at the top of the table, whilst the Rossoblu who are currently in the relegation zone are one point behind their local rivals Sampdoria in 17th and safety.
Using this weeks training sessions at Formello as an indicator it is likely that Joaquin Correa will partner Ciro Immobile up top, whilst Jony will keep his place down the left with Manuel Lazzari set to make his 20th appearance of the season down the right.
Inzaghi will be forced to make a change in defence, as Luiz Felipe is suspended and will be replaced by 26-year-old Patric in the trio at the back.
The following five players are a yellow card away from picking up a one match ban; Acerbi, Caicedo, Cataldi, Immobile and Lazzari.
Genoa took home three points in each of the last two league games and could win three games in a row in Serie A for the first time since February 2018, a streak that began with a success against Lazio.
Davide Nicola will also be without suspended Stefano Sturaro, the club also confirmed midweek that midfielder Ivan Radovanovic will go under the knife for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his knee and will miss the rest of the season.
Nicola will be looking for consistency and is likely to make no changes to his Genoa side – meaning that former Lazio star Goran Pandev will probably start on the bench.

Genoa vs Lazio: One to Watch
Ciro Immobile – The striker only needs one goal to equal the scoring record (27) after 25 game weeks of Serie A, which belongs to Antonio Angelillo from the 1958/59 season; since his arrival at Lazio, Ciro has scored 93 goals, in comparison to Lionel Messi (121) and Robert Lewandowski (104) in the Top 5 European championships, highlighting how prolific the Italian has been for the Biancocelesti.
Genoa vs Lazio: Top Tip
Under 2.5 goals: Genoa are the toughest team to break down outside of the top ten in Serie A, the Rossoblù have only conceded 15 goals in 11 games at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Genoa vs Lazio: Prediction
Udinese (1-3) and Roma (1-3) are the only two visiting sides to come away from the Stadio Luigi Ferraris with a victory margin over one goal.
Meanwhile the Biancocelesti have only won one game away this season by more than a single goal, in their first away fixture of the season against Sampdoria (0-3). They have also only managed to secure two clean sheets away from the Stadio Olimpico.
If the above form has anything to go by then Lazio will need to be at their best if they are going to put Nicola’s side to the sword.
Prediction: Genoa 1-1 Lazio
